Matt Timberlake

President

When Vortex acquired Applied Felts, Inc., Ferratex Solutions, and MaxLiner USA, Matt was tapped as the President of the new entity. Rebranded as United Felts, Inc., Matt is overseeing the reshaping and expansion of the nation’s largest manufacturer of dry and wet-out liners. A 27-year veteran of the underground utility industry, Matt is a third-generation member of the family-owned Ted Berry Company, Inc., where he served as the president until it was acquired by Vortex in 2018.

Over the course of his career, several industry associations have recognized Matt for his contributions to the advancement of trenchless solutions and underground utility repair. These include: the Northeast Trenchless Association Founders Award, the Maine Wastewater Control Association Presidents Award, the Maine Water Environment Association Communications Award, and the Maine Water Utilities Association with its Jim Doherty Award. Matt currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife, Christine, and children.

Justin Hancock VP, Operations

VP, Operations

As the VP of Operations, Justin oversees the production, development, and expansion of best-in-class felt, glass, United Blue, EnviroCure^®, and UV GRP liners. Justin brought 9 years of lean manufacturing experience from his previous roles in both engineering and operations from new construction window manufacturing. His experience has helped steer the successful launch of 4 new products, 4 additional manufacturing lines, 5 additional production crews, and a plant expansion since joining formerly Applied Felts in 2016 as the Operations Manager.

Justin’s strategic leadership has fostered a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence to ensure high performance CIPP liners. He’s passionate about developing a strong team from within and believes this has been instrumental in his successes being possible. His team-driven approach has helped incorporate safety, quality, HR, and maintenance shared services within United Felts manufacturing and wet-out liners. Justin resides in Martinsville, Virginia with his wife, Kristin, and two kids.

As SVP of MaxLiner USA, Connor heads up the United Felts’ lateral and vertical pipe rehab system solutions. Connor has been a mainstay at Vortex since its beginning holding numerous positions within the company that ultimately led him to his current role. His focus will be on developing a suite of system packages tailored to specific applications in high demand by commercial plumbers. As a division of United Felts and a part of Vortex, Connor will tap into a multitude of resources to elevate the MaxLiner brand while adding value to its customers.

Prior to his current position, Connor was VP of Vortex’s CIPP Corp. division where he was instrumental in growing the network and introducing new technologies to its members to help grow their businesses. With over a decade of experience in the trenchless infrastructure rehabilitation industry, Connor began his career at Vortex as Northeast Business Development Manager for the Services division, where he built trusted relationships and delivered innovative trenchless infrastructure solutions to some of the country’s largest public works entities. Connor now lives in Greenville, South Carolina, with his wife Kelly, and two children, Rory and Jack.

Mark Chandler Technical Director

As Technical Director at United Felts, Mark is responsible for new product development initiatives from conception to realization across United Felts and MaxLiner, LLC. He supports customers with the roll out of new products and oversees the Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams.

Before joining United Felts, Mark worked in the design and manufacturing of composite reinforcement fabrics like fiberglass, Kevlar, and carbon fiber. Mark began his career at a fiber reinforcement solutions provider, where he designed and developed innovative reinforcement fabrics. He later joined a fiberglass fabric company in the role of Technical Customer Service Engineer for North and South America. In this role, Mark provided customers with technical support, led special projects, and traveled internationally to expand into new markets.

Supply Chain & Order Fulfillment Manager

Charlotte has been with Vortex for over 3 years with her latest role as the Supply Chain and Order Fulfillment Manger of United Felts. Charlotte is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless supply chain experiences for maximum effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Charlotte currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, Austin, and their dog.

Vortex acquired Applied Felts establishing United Felts and expanding the CIPP product line. Sue has been ensuring customer satisfaction for more than 25 years. She has developed strong relationships and is always ready with options to keep the customer moving forward. No matter the size of the order, each one is handled with care. It has been exciting to grow with the Vortex vision.

Sue lives in the Martinsville area, not far from the family farm.

Justin manages the growth of wet and dry liner sales and provides the highest level of customer support for all United Felts clients. Justin’s proactive, can-do attitude has enabled him to grow United Felts’ customer base and led him to find success with many of the company’s long-term customers. Justin’s field experience gives him the ability to understand the expectations of contractors and the unique challenges they face, allowing him to provide hands-on assistance when difficulties arise.

In 1999, Justin began his career in underground trenchless technology at a leading pipe rehabilitation services provider as a Senior Project Manager. He later moved to Maryland in 2008 and joined an HDPE piping solutions company as Mid-Atlantic Sales Manager. In this role, Justin focused on underground construction using HDPE in municipal, industrial, and landfill applications.

Stacey Dunn Director of Quality

Director of Quality

Stacey has over 20 years of experience in the CIPP industry. He started as a laborer, progressing to project management, manufacturing, and sales, before landing his current role as Director of Quality Assurance for United Felts. His extensive background allows him to quickly and effectively investigate quality issues from many directions, leveraging his deep understanding of the industry. In his current position, Stacey works closely with his team to ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards. Together, they drive continuous improvements by combining their diverse expertise and collaboration to enhance processes and maintain the company’s commitment to excellence.
